Once the payroll is processed and confirmed for the month you can directly credit the salary to the employee's Bank Account.
You need to hold a current account with ICICI Bank to avail the direct payment services through Paybooks.
If you have already registered with ICICI Bank, you can directly credit the salary to the employee’s Bank account. This process is available only for the already registered accounts with ICICI Bank.
Please note that all new registrations with ICCI Bank have been temporarily stopped.
Step 1: -
Add the Bank details:
On the Home page click “Payroll settings”.
Click “Bank”
Enter the Bank name, Account No, Branch, IFSC, and MICR.

Click “Add Bank”.
Once we create the account, we must register the current bank account for direct payment.
Step 2: -
To Register for Direct Salary Payment: -
On the Home page click “Payment”.
Click “Register here”.
Select the “ICICI Bank Current Account Number” from the drop-down menu.
Note:
Corporate Id: - Corporate Id which is used for login to ICICI Corporate Internet Banking Portal. This is the common login for all the users within the Corporate.
User Id: - User Id is the individual login and this will differ for each user.
Enable the “I accept the terms of service” option.
Click “Submit to Bank”.
On registration, ICICI Bank will get in touch with you to activate direct salary payments.
After successful registration, the status will reflect as Active.
Once the account is activated you can use the direct salary payment feature.
Step 3: -
After activation of Direct salary Payment, you can do the test payment of INR 1/- to check whether the Direct salary payment is working fine.
Click on the Test Payment option.
Select the employees and click “Initiate Test Payment”.
The payment will only be initiated and released after both the OTP and token code have been successfully validated.
To generate the Token Code, follow the below steps:
- Login to ICICI Bank Corporate Banking portal.
- Navigate to Connected Banking>My Connected Banking Profile>Choose Paybooks under Aggregator.
- Select “Generate Token” under Actions. Once you authenticate with the OTP, a 4-digit token will be visible on the screen.
- Please note that this token will be valid only for 30 days and you will need to re-generate the token upon expiry.
- You can regenerate the token code within 30 days of expiry. Once the new code is generated, the old token code will automatically expire.
Step 4: -
You have the below tabs on the payment screen:
Pending – lists the payments yet to be processed.
Direct – lists the payments that have been completed.
Manual- lists the payments that have been kept on hold/stopped.
Select the payment option from the drop-down:
- Initiate multiple location payments- to release salary payments for a specific/all location.
- Initiate FBP payment details- to release the FBP-processed payments.
- Initiate Expense Payment details to release the expense-approved payments.
To initiate the payments for the employees, click the “Initiate Payment” option.
Once you click on initiate the payment, the list of employees for whom payment must be made is displayed.
To stop or hold the salary for any employee follow the below steps:
- Select the Employee
- Click “Mark for manual payment”.
To release the salaries, select the employees and click “Initiate direct payment”.
To view the status, click “Direct Payment” and click “View details”.
If you want to view the hold salary details, click “Manual Payment”.
Click “View Details”.
If you want to release the salary for the employee on hold, follow the below steps:
- Select the employee.
- Click “undo manual payment”.
- The employee will be moved to “Pending Salary Payment”.
- Follow the salary release steps for payment.
